Being able to keep down levels of excess humidity in a room can be crucial in minimizing risks of mildew and mold. In order to solve this common household and workplace problem, we offer a complete selection of Humidity Sensor Switch products from Leviton. This technology can detect any higher-than-desired level of humidity in a space. Once this happens, the Humidity Sensor Switch will automatically turn on a connected ventilation fan. Not only does this cut down on condensation, but it also increases the comfort of an environment.

With innovative technology that provides continuous monitoring of a room’s air, a Humidity Sensor Switch is smart enough to make use of this information and respond by turning on a vent fan to prevent levels of humidity from rising higher than desired. Apart from automated features, these devices also include settings that can be adjusted in order to meet specific user requirements. Factors like ideal humidity level, times for automatic shut-off, and sensitivity of the sensor can all be affected at the touch of a button.

Control Humidity and Curb Condensation
One of the primary uses for Leviton’s Humidity Sensor Switch and Fan Control product line is that it keeps ventilation under control, specifically in areas of residential homes and commercial facilities that are susceptible to dampness. Because these devices can automate the operation of fans for times when it is actually necessary, they also help cut down on unneeded usage and can produce notable energy savings as a result.

One important consideration to remember, however, is that a Humidity Sensor Switch and Fan Control should not simply be used by itself. Rather, these devices need to be utilized alongside a reliable ventilation fan system that is well-suited for the enclosed space being maintained, especially in terms of coverage area size and operational capabilities.

User-Friendly and Versatile Operation
What makes Leviton Humidity Sensor Switch products so versatile is that they are compatible with the majority of vent fan and light combinations, as well as most general ventilation or bathroom fans. With controls for changing sensitivity presets, target levels of humidity, and settings for timing out of fans, these Leviton products are incredibly user-friendly and intuitive in all these applications. Aside from being made to fit within standard wallboxes, they can also replace any single pole switch. Whenever you’re looking to install these devices, always remember that they need to have a neutral wire in order to operate properly.

Operation Modes to Know
In terms of the basic operation of Humidity Sensor Switch products, it is worth knowing several of the key modes and their functions. The first, Automatic Humidity Control Mode, allows the sensor to turn fans on automatically whenever a significant enough amount of humidity is present. Following this activation, the sensor will regularly monitor any nearby ambient air and stop fan operation once the humidity level is lowered to an acceptable level.

The second type of operation on a Humidity Sensor Switch is Air Cycle, which automatically turns vent fans on for a specific length of time and then repeats this same cycle at set intervals. For instance, a ventilation fan can be programmed to run for 30 minutes and then turn off for 30 minutes every hour. This feature is an ideal solution for locations that require more periodic control of humidity levels on a regular basis.
